A key advantage of a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription is the ability to stream a library of PlayStation 3 games directly online.
You can’t play the games offline, but the streaming service works well if you have a decent internet connection.
We’re sorry, but this benefit isn’t working as expected right now, so members can’t use it fully.
Currently, if you attempt to stream a PlayStation 3 game you don’t already own, it won’t start. Instead of an error message, the button you press just won’t respond.
Users on Reddit first noticed this a few days ago (PlayStation Lifestyle pointed it out), but Sony hasn’t said anything about it yet.
Okay, so I figured out a weird trick to get my PS3 games showing up on my PS5! Basically, you have to open the PlayStation Plus app on your computer and start the PS3 game you want, even though you’re not actually playing it on the PC. It adds it to your library, and then you can close the app and it shows up when you’re back on your PS5. It’s kinda janky, but it works!
Others suggest adding the games to your wishlist, and beginning the stream from there.
We’re hoping Sony addresses this problem quickly and releases a fix. We will update this article as soon as we have more information.
