PS1 Game From 1998 Confirmed to Return on PS5 and PS4 Soon

A popular game originally released for the PlayStation 1 in 1998 is getting a modern re-release on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Sony has been actively bringing back older titles through its PlayStation Plus Classics program, and several PS1 games – including *Resident Evil*, *Dino Crisis*, *Myst*, and *Siphon Filter* – have already been updated for newer consoles. Another classic is now joining the list, though the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet.

PlayStation announced this week that *Tekken 3* will be released on current gaming systems before the end of 2025. Originally debuting in arcades and then on the original PlayStation in 1998, this updated version of *Tekken 3* will also be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers as part of the Classics catalog. We can expect more information about the new features and improvements in the coming weeks.

Tekken 3 Is the Peak of the Series

The addition of *Tekken 3* to PS5 and PS4 is significant for a few key reasons. Many fans consider it the best game in the entire *Tekken* series, not just among the original PlayStation games, but throughout the last 25 years. This reputation is supported by its impressive Metacritic score of 96/100.

It’s fantastic to see PlayStation continuing to bring classic Tekken games to PS5 and PS4. After *Tekken 2* was released on modern consoles in 2022, fans eagerly asked for more titles to follow. For a long time, it seemed like games like *Tekken 3*, *Tekken 4*, and *Tekken 5* would remain on older systems. But now, *Tekken 3* is coming to current-gen consoles, and this could pave the way for other games in the series to do the same soon.
