A beloved PlayStation 1 game from 1999 is getting a surprising modern update and will be released later this month. Over the last few years, many publishers have been revisiting classic PS1 titles with remasters and remakes. Limited Run Games has been a leader in this trend, using the Carbon Engine to make these older games playable and visually enhanced on today’s consoles and PCs. This push to revive retro favorites continues soon with another remaster that fans of the original PlayStation will definitely enjoy.
Limited Run Games announced this week that Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition will be released before the end of the year. Last year, they brought back the original Tomba! with a Special Edition that updated the graphics, let players rewind gameplay, and allowed saving at any time. At that time, they also promised a remaster of Tomba! 2. Fans haven’t heard much about the Tomba! 2 Special Edition since, but now the wait is over, and the game will be available soon.
A new trailer has just been released for Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition, which is launching on December 15th. Originally only available on PlayStation, this updated version will also be playable on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam. Similar to the first Tomba! remaster, this Special Edition includes improvements designed to make the classic platformer more accessible and enjoyable for modern players.
Great news for fans! The original Tomba! is currently on sale at a significant discount. PlayStation players can get Tomba! Special Edition for 60
