PS3 Exclusive RPG From 2012 Confirmed to Get New Remaster

A well-loved role-playing game first released on PlayStation 3 in 2012 is getting a remastered version. Remasters and remakes of older PS3 games have become increasingly common lately, with titles like Dead Space, Shadows of the Damned, The Last of Us, and Ninja Gaiden 2 all receiving updated releases. One publisher, currently finishing up a PS3 remaster set to launch soon, has announced plans to create another one in the near future.

Yusuke Tomizawa, director of the Tales series at Bandai Namco, recently confirmed to Famitsu magazine (as reported by ryokutya2089) that a remaster of Tales of Xillia 2 is in development. This news comes as fans prepare for the release of Tales of Xillia Remastered on October 30th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. With the first game getting a remaster, fans wondered if the sequel would follow suit, and Tomizawa has now confirmed that it will.

Originally launched in 2012, Tales of Xillia 2 came to Western audiences in 2014. While it didn’t receive as much praise as the first Tales of Xillia, it still developed a dedicated fanbase. However, the game has only been available on the PlayStation 3, making it difficult for some players to experience. This new remaster aims to fix that, making the game much more accessible.

We don’t have a firm announcement date for Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered just yet. Bandai Namco is working on it, but details about its release date and which platforms it will be on are still unknown. However, with Tales of Xillia Remastered launching next week, we’re hopeful that more information will be revealed soon. Keep checking back with ComicBook for updates.
