A recent PlayStation leak suggests a very popular role-playing game from 2018 is getting an upgrade for the PS5. 2018 was an amazing year for video games, especially for RPGs, with hits like Monster Hunter World, Octopath Traveler, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Pillars of Eternity 2 all being released. Now, it looks like the best RPG from that year might be returning with improved graphics and performance on next-generation consoles soon.
A PlayStation Store listing recently revealed a potential upgrade for Kingdom Come: Deliverance on PS5. The listing, which has since been changed, indicated the update would include 4K graphics, better performance, and enhanced textures. While developer Warhorse Studios hasn’t officially announced the upgrade, the leak appears to be accurate, suggesting these improvements are likely coming to the game.
If you haven’t played it yet, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a realistic, story-driven role-playing game set in the medieval era. It was highly praised when it first came out, especially for its immersive world and interesting side missions. A sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, was released last year, and now the developers, Warhorse Studios, are revisiting the original game to improve it even further.
Will This RPG Also Get Upgraded for Other Platforms?
Although details of an update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance first surfaced on the PlayStation Store, it’s likely this same upgrade will also be released for Xbox and PC. Since the game is also available on Nintendo Switch, it’s possible these improvements could come to the next Nintendo Switch console as well.
It’s currently unclear whether the upcoming upgrade for Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be free for current owners, or if it will cost extra. However, Warhorse Studios recently updated the game’s PlayStation Store page, suggesting an official announcement about the next-gen update is coming soon.
