PS5 Open World Game Outbound Looks Perfect for Some Stress-Free Exploration

The independent game titled Outbound is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 at a later date, as confirmed by its developers, Square Glade Games.

If you’re seeking a laid-back adventure, this might just be perfect for you. The experience revolves around a journey by campervan, where you get to personalize it with items discovered along the way.

Alongside creating various structures such as houses, buildings, and secret lairs, you can expand your territory on a sizable game map, accommodating the participation of up to three additional players over the internet should you choose to do so.

Here’s the game’s alpha trailer from a few months back:

According to studio co-founder Marc Volger, as described on the PlayStation Blog, “Outbound” is a term they came up with following Alpha testing, after taking a step back and noticing what players found enjoyable, which they now refer to as ‘a sense of comfort and liveliness’ or simply ‘cozyvival’.

It turned out that they grew fond of the fulfilling survival aspects, such as resource management, material collection, and farming produce, combined with the comfortable, stress-free ambiance of dwelling in a campervan.

Once more, it’s all about creating a relaxing journey for you, and from what we’ve seen so far, Outbound seems well-suited for the task. It’s true that open world, survival-based games are plentiful these days, but there’s an undeniable appeal to this particular game.
