2025 has been a fantastic year for fans of platformer games, with highly anticipated releases like Hollow Knight: Silksong and The Rogue Prince of Persia. But one game that originally launched on PC and PS5 in September, Hirogami – a unique puzzle platformer with an origami theme – just got a huge update, making it even more enjoyable for players. The update is now available on PS5 after first being released on PC.
In Hirogami, you take on the role of an origami master who can transform into different shapes and embark on a magical quest to protect their home. The game features a stunning 3D art style based on origami and blends action, adventure, and puzzle-solving for a charming and immersive experience. While the game initially received a mixed reception, Bandai Namco has been actively addressing player feedback with a significant update. After releasing on PC earlier this month, this major update is now available for PlayStation 5 players.
Hirogami Major Update Brings in Player Feedback for a Better Platforming Experience
The big Hirogami patch, first launched on PC on October 23rd, is now available for PlayStation 5 as of November 5th. Based on what players told us, this update addresses problems with the camera and makes combat more balanced for a better experience. We’ve also added more frequent checkpoints and made it so abilities recharge faster. Overall, this update should significantly improve Hirogami for everyone.
You can find a complete list of updates for the PS5 version of Hirogami in the patch notes available on Steam.
- Adjusting fixed camera angles in various chapters.
- Lowering crane requirements for unlocking late-game levels.
- Reducing overall enemy HP for all chapters.
- Rebalancing combat and reducing enemy count for all chapters.
- Adjusting “No Damage” mission objectives to be easier in various chapters.
- Making checkpoints more frequent in various chapters.
- Shortening charge time for all fold form upgraded abilities.
- Increasing the hitbox size for Hiro’s tornado wind attack.
- Adding accessibility option to turn chromatic aberration on or off.
- Adding accessibility option to reduce brightness of certain in-game transformations, such as building bridges or other structures.
- Patching collision bugs that cause Hiro to get stuck in environmental geometry.
- Increasing text size for Steam Deck gameplay.

When Hirogami first launched, many players enjoyed the game but were frustrated by a few key problems. Now that those issues – like the camera and how challenging the game is – have been fixed, it should appeal to even more fans of platformer games.
If you’re looking for a new game on PS5, I’ve got some good news! To celebrate a big update, Hirogami is currently 35% off on the PlayStation Store until November 22nd. That means you can grab this puzzle platformer for just $19.49 instead of the usual $30. Seriously, if you’re a fan of platformers and you’re still waiting for Silksong like me, this is a great time to check it out while it’s on sale!
