PS5 Pre-Orders for Bloodlines 2’s Premium Edition to Be Refunded as Paradox Promises Changes

This week, if you’ve previously secured a pre-order for the Premium Edition of the eagerly awaited role-playing game sequel, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, you’re due for a refund.

This is due to the fact that the publisher, Paradox, has announced plans to make changes, following the reception of the more expensive Premium Edition, which faced criticism for offering two character classes as downloadable content.

Previously, enthusiasts of the game could either pay £74.99/$89.99 to get all the content at launch, or they had the option to later on pay an additional £18.69/$21.99 to access the Toreador and Lasombra clans as add-ons.

At the initial release of the game, fans could fork out £74.99/$89.99 for all the content, or they had the choice to later on pay £18.69/$21.99 extra to gain access to the Toreador and Lasombra clans as additional content.

In simpler terms, the team assigned to complete a challenging project, often referred to as The Chinese Room, contended that they incorporated the new groups into the project after taking over the development responsibilities from the previous studio, Hardsuit Labs. However, this matter is not relevant to consumers.

Fortunately, the companies have seen sense.

We’re diligently making progress on the modifications we mentioned earlier, and we’ll share all the specifics with you by September 17th. Such major alterations require careful coordination of various elements, so we’re taking our time to ensure a smooth transition with this change.

Starting from September 8th, individuals who pre-ordered the Premium Edition via the PS Store will begin receiving their refunds. Rest assured, there will be another opportunity to pre-order the Premium Edition before its release on October 21st. This initial action is part of our plan leading up to September 17th, aimed at ensuring a top-notch launch experience for you.

It appears that the DLC clans might be integrated into the main game, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed. The question then becomes: what additional features could they add to enhance the value of the Premium Edition?

Absolutely, even though the circumstances might’ve been preventable, credit is due to Paradox and their team for considering the strong feedback they received and making necessary adjustments.

Given the amount of time that has passed before its release, it would indeed be unfortunate if such an error had marred its debut.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that we’re on the lookout for updates regarding the changes the publisher is planning for the 17th of September! In the meantime, don’t forget to stay vigilant about your refund if you were among those who pre-ordered earlier. Happy waiting!
