PS5 Roguelike Let It Die: Inferno Uses a Crapload of Generative AI

It’s unclear if there was much excitement for the upcoming game Let It Die: Inferno, but a recent update to its Steam page from publisher GungHo Interactive may have significantly hurt any potential interest.

Valve is now asking game developers to state if their games use AI that creates content. If they do, it might be better to explain which elements were created by people instead.

Our team used AI to help create some of the voices, music, and graphics in the game, and then we refined those elements ourselves, according to a recent statement.

AI is now capable of creating various digital assets, including textures for backgrounds, illustrated records, informative videos, and both voices and music.

Super Trick, the Japanese company behind the original Let It Die, also developed this game.

It’s not the only game incorporating AI – Call of Duty does too, for example. However, this situation feels especially problematic to us.
