Fate/Extra Record has been hit with another delay, having previously been targeting a 2025 release.
The developers at Type-Moon, along with publisher Bandai Namco, have officially announced that the release will take place in the spring of the coming year (with hopeful anticipation).
If you’ve been following along with this project, it’s likely that you’re accustomed to this degree of letdown at this point. Fate/Extra Record was initially unveiled in the year 2020, promising to be a complete remake of Fate/Extra – a PSP RPG that eventually gained some notoriety as a cult favorite.
Over the past five years, there’s been relatively minimal exposure to the game itself. While various trailers have hinted at its potential, the anticipated release in 2025 seems doubtful due to scarcity of real gameplay footage.
Although Bandai Namco has recently revealed several special editions specifically for Japan, it seems reasonable to presume there’s a definite release date this time. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Fate/Extra Record finally comes out in 2026.
