In any of Remedy’s games, you can feel its influences pouring off the screen.
The studio has a distinctive look, but it’s also influenced by many different sources, like TV, films, and literature.
A recent video discussing Control Resonant reveals some of the content it’s incorporating into the sequel, and it appears to be featuring the most exciting and popular elements.
Shows like The X-Files, Fringe, and Twin Peaks are definitely influential, but classic science fiction from the Soviet Union, particularly the 1970s novel Roadside Picnic (which also inspired the STALKER games), is equally important.
Regarding Dylan Faden’s next action game, the development team is exploring new ideas, drawing inspiration from the classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. It sounds like this game is going to be very intense!
Want some entertainment while you wait for the game to come out? This video has lots of great recommendations, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
We also noticed a lot of Devil May Cry and Gravity Rush footage during the recent State of Play presentation, which makes us think Remedy is working on something special.
