It seems that the eagerly anticipated sequel, Darksiders 4, is rumored to include both online and split-screen cooperative play – a feature not explicitly mentioned during last week’s announcements.
It seems we use ‘apparently’ since it’s just the product descriptions that reveal this information. Interestingly, the game’s main site doesn’t mention cooperative play at all, which is somewhat surprising given that it’s likely to be a significant draw for many players.
Essentially, this game supports both online and local cooperative play. Online co-op can accommodate up to four players (with a minimum of two), while local co-op is available through split-screen for two players. Additionally, you can complete the entire game on your own as a single player.
If you’ve witnessed the unveiling of Darksiders 4, it becomes quite clear that the introduction of a four-player cooperative mode is logical. In this installment, players have the freedom to assume control over any one of the Four Horsemen, each characterized by their unique weapons and gameplay styles.
To determine how the game’s layout might alter due to the number of players, we’ll need to observe and assess the changes. So far, it has been characterized as a traditional Darksiders journey, offering an action-adventure experience in third-person perspective, blending fighting, exploration, and puzzle-solving elements.
It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time Darksiders has ventured into cooperative gameplay. The 2019 spinoff, Darksiders Genesis, offers dual playable characters – War and Strife. You have the option to explore the game alongside a friend.
What are your thoughts on cooperative play in Darksiders 4? Are you open to teaming up with friends, or do you prefer playing by yourself? Share your feelings about the upcoming apocalypse in the comments section below.
