Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is lowkey one of the most exciting PS5 games on the horizon.
We’ve always loved Bandai Namco’s exciting flight games, and a recent developer update suggests the next installment might be their most ambitious and impressive yet.
The gameplay feels familiar to previous titles: you select a fighter jet and complete missions, battling enemies in the air and experiencing the thrill of being a powerful pilot.
However, there are some changes and improvements in AC8.
The game’s graphics have improved dramatically, showcasing the new cloud technology being used. The developers are also utilizing Unreal Engine’s Lumen to create incredibly realistic lighting. Combined with better-looking planes and characters, the game is now visually impressive.
The storytelling is changing in this new game. Previous games showed the story through cutscenes watched from an outside view, but in this one, you’ll experience the story as if you’re actually there, seeing everything from your character’s eyes.
These days, people are really focusing on sharing the everyday moments with their friends – things like eating together or just hanging out, even in interesting places like on an aircraft carrier, which is awesome.
The developer is also working to make the game easier to learn. They’re including detailed tutorials and a practice mode so players can master all the moves.
I’m really excited to hear that AC8 isn’t just a big single-player game, but it’s also going to have a massive online mode! They’re saying it’s the biggest online experience the series has ever seen, but they haven’t given us many details yet, so I’m definitely curious to see what that looks like.
Okay, so Wings of Theve is really stepping up its game. They’re clearly putting a lot more effort into making it look and feel amazing, and adding some really neat stuff that I think will grab a lot more players. I’m excited to see how it all turns out!
We’re really excited to finally get our hands on Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve and experience flying the planes ourselves! What do you think of the game? Share your opinions in the comments below.
