The newest edition of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu features a beautiful piece of artwork for Ghost of Yotei (thanks to Genki), just days before the game releases as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Famitsu frequently receives unique artwork made just for its magazine covers, and we really love this one. It shows Atsu, drawn in a distinctly anime style, cutting through someone with her blood-covered sword.
On the back cover, the artwork provides a larger view of Atsu’s enigmatic wolf companion, looking fierce as it faces the Yotei Six – the primary villains in the game. Naturally, the imposing Mount Yotei looms in the background.
I’ve always loved seeing characters from grounded, realistic games get reimagined in cool art styles, and honestly, this cover has me seriously thinking about how amazing a Ghost of Yotei anime could be. It really gets you wondering, doesn’t it? I’m definitely hoping someone explores that possibility! It’s just so visually interesting.
It’s important to note how well-received 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima was by players in Japan. Sony is likely hoping the next game will be equally popular, and this impressive marketing campaign should definitely contribute to that.
What do you make of this cover? At least wipe the blood off in the comments section below.
