The recent PlayStation Network (PSN) issue that allowed some players to download a new PS5 game for free has been resolved. Anyone who successfully downloaded the game is currently still able to play it, though that could potentially change in the future.
PlayStation players have discovered a way to get a free PS5 game from the PlayStation Store due to a glitch on the PSN network. This issue has been happening for several hours, and Sony hasn’t yet responded. It’s unclear whether Sony will let players keep the games they obtained through the glitch. While Sony has previously removed games downloaded using similar glitches, they’ve also sometimes allowed players to keep them. There’s no clear pattern from the past to predict what will happen this time, though typically Sony revokes the downloads.
This week saw the release of *Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun* on PS5, priced at $39.99 on the PlayStation Store. However, players who already own the game on PS4 can upgrade for free. Interestingly, a loophole allows you to upgrade the PS4 demo version of the game to the full PS5 version.
About the Game
If you haven’t heard of it, *Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun* is a stealth and tactics game released in 2016 by the German studio Mimimi Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Mimimi Games has since closed down, but that wasn’t related to *Shadow Tactics*, which was very well-received. It currently has an impressive 85/100 score on Metacritic and a “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, meaning 95% of over 8,860 player reviews are positive. On the PlayStation Store, it maintains a 4.55 out of 5 star rating, making it one of the best tactical stealth games available on the PS4.
