It’s been seven years since the last episodes of The Punisher appeared on Netflix. The show’s second season follows Frank Castle, who is trying to live a quiet life on the road after leaving New York. But he’s quickly pulled back into danger when a young girl is targeted, and he gets caught up in a violent mystery. Soon, Castle finds himself a target once more, facing enemies from his past and present, and realizing he must embrace his role as the Punisher again.
In an interview with ComicBook about Ted 2, The Punisher Season 2 actress Georgia Whigham shared her thoughts on her character, Amy, and the possibility of revisiting her. When asked if there were more stories to tell with Amy, Whigham enthusiastically responded that she believes there is a place for her within the superhero world, though she isn’t sure what that would look like. She described Amy as a resilient and resourceful character, suggesting she’d be a great fit with the direction Marvel is heading, alongside newer characters like MJ (Zendaya) and Yelena (Florence Pugh).
A Cut Scene Would Have Given Amy Some Closure

According to Whigham, a scene was filmed that would have shown Amy’s life after her storyline with Frank, offering fans some resolution after the season finale left many questions unanswered. He explained that the cut scene involved him, playing the character, pretending to be a deep-sea diver, specifically diving for a gold bar at a swimming pool. It was meant to show Amy embracing a new path, leaving her previous life behind. Whigham admitted he doesn’t know why the scene was removed, and jokingly suggested he might have looked foolish while pretending to hold his breath.
The scene would have nicely tied up storylines for both Amy and, to some extent, Frank. Although we may not see Amy again in future installments, fans can still look forward to more of Frank Castle. He’ll appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and he’s also getting his own special presentation. Actor Jon Bernthal described it as being very dark, stating Frank isn’t looking to change his violent ways, and it won’t be a watered-down version of The Punisher. He promises it will be intense.
