I’m so excited! QuakeCon 2026 is officially happening August 6th through the 9th, according to their X feed. They haven’t shared many details yet, but it’s going to be huge! It’s the thirtieth anniversary of Quake, which is a game so many of us shooter fans absolutely love, and I can’t wait to celebrate!
This event is special for id Software, as it’s being held in their home state of Texas, specifically in Grapevine. It’s designed to be a community gathering, but there’s also a chance we could hear some new announcements from id Software or Bethesda.
We might hear more about story expansions for DOOM: The Dark Ages, a prequel that both fans and critics have enjoyed. We especially think it’s a great game and a strong addition to the DOOM series.
It’s highly unlikely, but there’s a small chance Bethesda might show up at QuakeCon and finally talk about the rumors surrounding Fallout 5, a remastered version of Fallout 3, and a possible remake of Fallout: New Vegas. That’s what makes QuakeCon fun – you can always expect the unexpected!
We might even get news of a new Quake title given the occasion. Fingers crossed on that one!
