Quantic Dream is working on a new multiplayer game, according to studio head David Cage, who announced it on the company’s website. They are also still developing *Star Wars: Eclipse*, which was first revealed in 2021.
Okay, so I was really surprised by what Cage just said about their new project! Apparently, it’s going to be pretty different from anything they’ve done before, which is exciting! But honestly, that doesn’t shock me. They’ve always been a band that loves to push boundaries, try new things, and basically just go for it, even if it seems crazy. It’s totally part of who they are as artists.
Here is the full message from Cage:
As a gamer, I’ve been following Quantic Dream for over 28 years, and they consistently deliver incredible stories where *you* really feel like you’re making the choices. I’ve lost hours in games like *Heavy Rain*, *Beyond: Two Souls*, and *Detroit: Become Human*, and it’s amazing to think over 25 million people worldwide have experienced the emotional journeys of characters like Ethan, Jodie, Kara, Markus, and Connor alongside me.
Starting in 2018, we’ve experienced significant growth and innovation. We’ve expanded our team to twice its original size, attracting talented individuals from around the globe who share a passion for creative work. We’ve also expanded our physical presence with a new studio in Montreal and a new headquarters in Paris, developed our cutting-edge technology for the future, and taken full control of publishing our work.
We’ve traditionally focused on making one game at a time, but we’re now expanding our approach. We’ve created multiple teams to develop a new wave of exciting games, and we’re even exploring new genres – including a competitive multiplayer game. This new project will still be built with the same innovative and creative energy that’s always been at the heart of our studio.
Our latest project might be unexpected for longtime fans, as it’s a departure from our previous work. However, we’ve always been driven by a willingness to take chances, push our boundaries, experiment with new ideas, and strive for the seemingly impossible – it’s just part of who we are.
We understand how difficult it is to develop something innovative. Gaining players’ trust, being noticed in a crowded market, and offering truly new ideas are all huge hurdles. As newcomers to this type of game, we know we have a lot to demonstrate – and that’s where your support and feedback come in. We believe that by working together, we can build something special.
We’re still working on *Star Wars: Eclipse*, and we look forward to sharing updates with you when we can.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to all our players worldwide. Thank you for continuing to enjoy our games, for your kind support at events, and for always being patient and encouraging.
Quantic Dream is starting an exciting new phase, and we’re grateful for your continued support. We’re thrilled to soon reveal what we’ve been working on!
—David Cage
