Ubisoft is gradually bringing its games to the new Nintendo Switch 2. They started with *Star Wars Outlaws*, which came out last month, and *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is expected to follow in December. While a new *Rayman* game seems likely, many are wondering if *Rainbow Six Siege* will ever be available on the platform.
Last June, the team-based shooter was revamped into *Siege X* and made free-to-play. It’s a unique offering, particularly since many other shooters haven’t fully embraced console gaming. Though creative director Alexander Karpazis is currently focused on existing platforms, he didn’t rule out the possibility of expanding to others in the future, telling IGN, “never say never.”
Our main priority is always providing the best possible experience on the platforms we currently support, and any new gameplay we add will be designed with those platforms in mind. Expanding to new platforms isn’t a priority for us right now. However, as a live game that’s been running for ten years, we’ve learned not to rule anything out. We’ll continue to evaluate new platforms and opportunities as they arise, as the gaming landscape evolves, but our current focus remains on what we have.
To mark its tenth anniversary, *Rainbow Six Siege* will feature a major in-game event. The developers are also planning special rewards for players, ensuring a big celebration for everyone involved.
Rainbow Six Siege X is playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game is currently in Season 3, which introduced a new playable character named Denari, the Glaive-12 weapon, improvements to the Dual Front mode, and updated versions of three maps. You can find a detailed roadmap outlining future updates if you’d like to learn more.
