After a successful comeback in 2024, season 2 of the Ranma 1/2 remake is now available, and there are still many more episodes on the way.
I was so thrilled when season 1 brought Rumiko Takahashi’s amazing martial arts romantic comedy to viewers all over the world! And honestly, there’s still so much more fun to experience – I can’t wait for everyone to dive in!
The anime remake has remained true to the original manga, with improved animation and a better flow. Season 2 promises to keep up the hilarious adventures of Ranma Saotome, along with Akane, Genma, and all the other characters as the story grows.

How many episodes will there be in Ranma 1/2 season 2?

We anticipate that 12 episodes will make up Ranma 1/2 season 2. The first season also had this many episodes. However, previous anime versions of Ranma 1/2 sometimes had longer cours (blocks of 10-14 episodes); nowadays, it’s more common to see shorter seasons due to production timelines.
Even so, we’ll be watching for the official number of episodes announced by MAPPA (the anime’s production studio) or Netflix. We’ll update this guide if the actual count differs from our current prediction.
Where can I watch Ranma 1/2 season 2?
I’m so excited to share that all episodes of Ranma 1/2 season 2 are going to be available to stream on Netflix, worldwide! And for my friends in Japan, you can actually watch it as it airs each week on channels like Nippon TV, Aomori Broadcasting, and Iwate Television, before it even hits the streaming platforms. It’s going to be a great season!
As of right now, the new season won’t be available on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+, or Amazon Prime when it’s first released. Netflix is still the only international streaming service that has officially confirmed it will carry the series.
What’s the plot of Ranma 1/2 season 2?
Picking up where the first season left off, the second season of the Ranma 1/2 remake will introduce Mouse, a friend from Shampoo’s past. We’ll also meet Ukyo, who becomes Ranma’s new fiancée.
I’ve been watching Ranma and Akane, and it’s clear they’re going to find themselves in a lot of funny and uncomfortable moments as they try to figure out how they feel about each other. It’s going to be quite a ride watching them work through all of this!
If you enjoyed the first season, the trailer for season 2 shown above suggests you’ll really love the new Ranma 1/2 remake. It’s a great indication that this version will be even better!
Ranma 1/2 is available to watch on Netflix.
