Pooh Shiesty is a free man.
Rapper Boosie Badazz (born Lontrell D. Williams) was released from prison after serving three years of his five-year and three-month sentence, according to his attorney, Bradford Cohen.
Attorney shared on Instagram on October 7th that their client, @poohshiesty, is preparing for a return, promising it will be a significant one. They expressed happiness seeing their client work towards regaining a top position, and affirmed their consistent honesty throughout the process.
Cohen explained that the government had requested ten units, but only received three. He believes there’s a larger plan at play for this person and that their story is far from over – it’s actually just beginning.
On October 7th, the musician’s attorney explained to Gray News that his client was released from custody on October 6th due to a combination of time already served and good behavior. The attorney, Cohen, expressed clear happiness that his client was released early.
In January 2022, the 25-year-old man pleaded guilty to conspiring to illegally possess firearms related to violent crimes and drug trafficking, and he accepted a plea agreement in hopes of receiving a lighter sentence, according to the Department of Justice for the Southern District of Florida.
As part of the agreement, Pooh Shiesty confessed to being involved in a crime three times, according to the official statement. One instance occurred on July 7, 2020, when Shiesty was in a car in Memphis and someone with him fired a gun at a gas station.
A few months later, on October 9th in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, Pooh Shiesty and his associates went to a meeting intending to buy marijuana, codeine, and sneakers. During this meeting, someone in Shiesty’s group pulled a gun and attacked two people.
On May 20, 2021, Pooh Shiesty allegedly attacked someone with a gun at a strip club in Miami, according to official reports.
In April 2022, Pooh Shiesty received a 63-month prison sentence, followed by three years of supervised release, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.
When Cohen received his prison sentence, he said that although no one wants to go to jail, both he and Pooh Shiesty felt the outcome was acceptable.
Cohen told *Rolling Stone* that he was pleased the judge carefully considered their case and was happy with the result. He also expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision.
