Raven-Symoné Shares Emotional Message to Late Malcolm-Jamal Warner

Raven-Symoné is mourning the loss of her Cosby Show costar.

A former star of “That’s So Raven” posted a heartfelt message after the unexpected and unfortunate passing of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who died on July 20 as a result of accidental drowning at the age of 54.

On Instagram, posted on the 22nd of July, Raven expressed her feelings through a simple message. The image she shared displayed a black background with three heartfelt words, “I love you,” written in clear, white letters.

Additionally, she delivered a heartfelt message in audio form, echoing the depth of her sorrow, the woman who starred as Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show alongside Theodore Huxtable played by Malcolm, was 39 years old at the time.

In the video, Raven expressed the profound anguish, shock, and sorrow she felt following MJW’s passing. She described him as more than just a family member; he was a guiding light, someone incredibly gifted, and exceptionally kind.

Previously on View, its co-host extended sympathies to Malcolm’s kin, expressing that her thoughts, feelings, and warm embraces and kisses are with them.

Raven went on saying, “His guidance was unbeatable, and his embraces were the best. His smile, a massive, radiant one, remains etched in my mind eternally. I adore you, and I believe you are looking after each of us from above.

During his July 20 vacation in Costa Rica, Malcolm found himself caught in a strong undercurrent while swimming in the ocean. The Judicial Investigation Agency of Costa Rica later confirmed this to TopMob News, stating that he was eventually rescued by beachgoers. However, tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On the next day, ABC News received confirmation from the Costa Rican National Police that Malcolm’s death was due to asphyxiation, which is a condition resulting from insufficient oxygen supply, often caused by drowning.

Ever since the unexpected demise of the esteemed Resident star, it hasn’t been just Raven who has paid tribute; Geoffrey Owens, fondly remembered as Elvin Tibideaux from our beloved NBC sitcom, has also shared his sorrow following this tragic event in our collective memory.

Geoffrey conveyed in a July 21 statement to NBC News, “The event has almost taken away my words. Malcolm was a wonderful individual; kind-hearted and deeply emotional. I admired him for numerous aspects, especially his genuine passion for creation. He possessed the spirit of an actor and the soul of a musician.

During his time on the show, Adam Sandler (playing Smitty, a friend of Malcolm’s Theo character) reminisced about the enjoyable experiences he shared with that particular actor while collaborating together.

According to Happy Gilmore during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 21st, we’d often go for walks together, grab food, chat, play basketball, spend weekends hanging out, and attend parties together. He was incredibly kind to me personally, and his mother was truly wonderful.

Adam stated, “I’m simply expressing affection for his family. Malcolm was genuinely outstanding, filled with humor, an intelligent youngster, and had a significant impact on our nation.

The Live! hosts paid tribute to Warner, who they say was the show’s first ever guest.

It’s heartbreakingly sad and overwhelming, and it’s strange because I didn’t personally know him, but he was like a childhood companion for me. We were around the same age, though he was a famous TV personality and I was his fan. It feels as if a part of us all has died. It’s truly devastating.
