Let’s take a quick look back at gaming history. In 1999, Razer released the Boomslang, a groundbreaking mouse created specifically for PC gamers. Its distinctive design and impressive performance – especially for its time – essentially launched the entire market for PC gaming accessories.

Razer, as we know it today, was officially re-established in 2005 by Min-Liang Tan, who continues to serve as CEO. Over the past two decades, the company has consistently delivered innovative gaming hardware, becoming a leading and highly recognizable brand globally.

To mark its 20th anniversary, Razer is bringing back the Boomslang mouse – the one that started it all! This limited-edition version keeps the classic design but adds all the advanced technology and features found in Razer’s top-of-the-line gaming mice. Here’s a rundown of what’s new.

The rebirth of a legend

Gaming mice have come a long way since the Razer Boomslang first became popular with its 2,000 DPI ball tracking system. Now, Razer isn’t just bringing back the original mouse – they’re completely updating it with all the latest technology.

The Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition is quite similar to the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro, which I recently reviewed and found to be one of the best, most advanced gaming mice available.

As a long-time Razer fan, I’m seriously impressed with the new Boomslang! It’s got Razer’s incredible Focus Pro 45K Optical Sensor Gen-2 and Gen-4 Optical Mouse Switches – basically, it’s unbelievably accurate and responsive. We’re talking up to 45,000 DPI and super-fine sensitivity control. Plus, it’s built to last with less lag and more reliability. And the best part? It’s completely wireless thanks to Razer HyperSpeed and 8,000Hz HyperPolling! It even comes with a special limited-edition Razer Mouse Dock Pro for wireless charging, which is just awesome.

The classic design has received some elegant updates, including a see-through shell, customizable lighting with nine distinct zones, comfortable PU leather on the buttons, and the option to swap in glass feet. While the mouse still works well for both left- and right-handed users, Razer has significantly improved nearly every other aspect.

We’re still waiting for details on this mouse, like its weight, price, and release date. However, Razer is only making a very limited run of 1,337 units, and each one will have its own unique number. It’s clear this mouse is designed for serious collectors.

Razer plans to celebrate the launch with community events and giveaways. You can find more information and sign up for updates about the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition on Razer.com. While this mouse will likely be a rare find for most of us, it’s still a really cool release.
