Re-Releases Go Too Far with New PS5 Version of Darksiders 1

Many of you have requested a PlayStation 5 version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, which originally started as a game for PlayStation 3 and was then updated for PlayStation 4. We’re happy to announce that a next-generation version is coming out on May 19, 2026.

THQ Nordic recently did something similar with Darksiders 2 in 2024, releasing a PS5 version of the remastered ‘Deathinitive Edition.’ They offered a free upgrade from the PS4 version, so players are hoping for the same treatment with this ‘Warmastered Edition.’ If you don’t already own it, the game costs $29.99.

We originally gave Darksiders: Warmastered Edition on PS4 an 8 out of 10 in 2016, praising its captivating fantasy world. Now, a decade later, a remastered version has reappeared – and it’s a bit of a mystery why.
