Reacher star’s hit Netflix action movie set to get a sequel after it tops streamer’s film charts

A sequel is planned for the Netflix movie War Machine, which proved to be a hit with viewers. The sci-fi action film, featuring Alan Ritchson of Reacher, ranked among the top 10 most popular original movies on the streaming service.

Since the film debuted on Netflix on March 6th and quickly reached 139 million views, it’s not surprising that a sequel has already been announced.

Patrick Hughes is returning to direct and co-write the next installment, alongside James Beaufort. While not officially confirmed, Joe Ritchson is expected to reprise his role as the Sergeant, known only as 81.

The first movie takes place during the grueling final phase of US Army Ranger training, where a team’s practice mission unexpectedly becomes a desperate battle for survival against a terrifying enemy.

The show featured a talented cast, including Jai Courtney, Dennis Quaid, Esai Morales, Keiynan Lonsdale, and, of course, Ritchson.

Our review gave the film three stars, praising it as a surprisingly enjoyable showcase for Jack Ritchson’s charisma. However, we also noted it features a lot of graphic violence – plenty of blood and gore – so it’s not for the faint of heart.

Currently, we don’t know any specifics about the story of the next movie. However, we’ll continue to watch for and share any new information as it becomes available in the weeks and months ahead.
