Production has begun on the new Resident Evil movie, a reboot from Sony and PS Productions, and it’s being directed by the well-known Zach Cregger.
Okay, so we’re getting our first look at the Resident Evil movie set in Prague, and it’s covered in snow! It seriously looks like Raccoon City from the old Code Veronica game – that one had some really icy, atmospheric areas, and this feels like it’s going for that same vibe. I’m already getting excited!
The photos include a city map that players of the game will recognize, along with images of wrecked cars and deserted shops.
Daniel Creggger, a longtime Resident Evil enthusiast, has created a completely original story set within the established universe of the popular survival horror series. He’s confident that fans will enjoy it.
The film itself is due out on 18th September, 2026, with Sony Pictures set to distribute it.
Austin Abrams, known for his role in Weapons, is confirmed to be in the movie. However, details about his character, Bryan – a medical courier – are currently limited.
