Tarsier Studios previously showed off the first 13 minutes of their new co-op horror game, *Reanimal*, back in August. However, that demo skipped the very beginning of the story, which features a boy adrift in the water. You can now watch that opening sequence thanks to IGN.
Having rescued The Girl (who immediately starts choking!), the pair begins searching for their friends. Dave Mervik, the game’s narrative director, emphasizes the game’s local co-op feature and how it creates a uniquely tense experience, similar to watching a scary movie with a friend. They soon arrive at a location previously shown to be overrun with frightening creatures.
The game *Reanimal* is scheduled to launch in early 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Before then, you can try a free demo with a friend starting October 13th on PC through Steam Next Fest. In the demo, you’ll get to explore the Trainyard and Mill areas while escaping the Sniffer.
