Recent Trademark Filed by Remedy Entertainment Hints at a Potential Control Game

Hey, so I just saw some news that Remedy, the team behind Control, filed a trademark in Europe. It seems like they might be starting work on a new game set in the same universe as Control, which is awesome! It’s still early days, but I’m already getting hyped!

A trademark registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office uses the name “CONTROL Resonant,” suggesting a possible link to the popular video game, Control.

Interestingly, the trademark application was filed by Nordia Attorneys at Law LTD – the same firm that handles all of the Max Payne trademarks.

The trademark doesn’t cover the name ‘Remedy.’ However, Nordia and Remedy Entertainment have a history of working together, as evidenced by several past collaborations listed on Nordia’s website.

The trademark also includes the tag “video game services,” which suggests it could be for a new game in the Control series.

Could the New CONTROL Resonant Trademark Be for a Potential New Game?

It’s currently unclear if this trademark is for a new game related to the Control series.

While it most likely points to a new video game, the trademark covers a wide range of possibilities. It could end up being a movie, television series, downloadable game content, or even a book.

However, it’s good to remember that work on Control 2 has been underway for some time, even though we haven’t received many updates recently.

The latest update is that the game will be an action role-playing game, but details beyond that are scarce. Annapurna is also working on film and TV adaptations of Control and Alan Wake, so it’s possible “Control Resonant” isn’t a game at all.

Right now, the best course of action is to wait for Remedy Entertainment to officially announce or reveal what CONTROL: Resonant Hum actually is.

With The Game Awards happening on December 11th, Remedy could potentially reveal something official at the event.
