Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Now the Fourth Best Selling Game Ever, Still Chained to PS4 at 30FPS

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now the fourth best-selling video game of all time.

Rockstar’s open-world Western game, Red Dead Redemption 2, has now sold an incredible 79 million copies, according to Take-Two’s latest financial report. This makes it a best-seller, surpassing even the popular Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Despite being a fantastic game, Red Dead Redemption 2’s story as outlaw Arthur Morgan is still only available on the PS4, and even then it only runs at 30 frames per second.

I’ve been hearing whispers about a potential port for ages now, and honestly, as a fan, it’s been driving me crazy! We’ve all been hoping for it, but there’s just never been any solid proof it’s actually happening.

For years, we’ve hoped to see Red Dead Redemption 2 updated for the PlayStation 5. The game remains incredibly impressive technically, and a next-gen version would be a dream come true.

It seems like we’re missing out on potential profits and attention, but the game is still selling well even though it’s limited to older consoles.

Honestly, if they released Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS5, I think it would easily become one of the best-selling games ever. It’s already so close to Wii Sports in sales – just a few million copies away – a PS5 version would almost certainly put it right up there with the all-time greats!

Grand Theft Auto 5 was such a massive hit that it’s understandably shaped how Take-Two and Rockstar view their games. However, they must also recognize Red Dead Redemption 2 as an incredibly impressive accomplishment.

Is it any surprise that Red Dead Redemption 2 became such a hit? Share your ideas and plans in the comments below!
