I’ve always been blown away by how much detail Rockstar put into Red Dead Redemption 2 – everything from the world itself to how different choices affect missions. But honestly, just when I thought we’d found everything hidden in the game, fans discovered something completely new last month! And apparently, it’s been there since the game first came out in 2018. It’s incredible!
A YouTuber named Strange Man, with help from his followers, found a telegraph pole in the Heartland Oil Fields that displays a spider symbol, a web, and a feather between 3 and 4 AM. Others soon discovered similar poles around the world marked with the same imagery. These poles all seem to be connected, forming a larger pattern, and notably include the letter “N” within the design.
As players traveled north, they discovered a pole. Shooting it revealed the letter “W,” likely indicating a westward direction. This led to another pole displaying “NW” and a guitar icon when shot. Following this path brought them to Fort Wallace, where a guitar pointed west, ultimately leading to a wanted card for Emmet Granger, who was last encountered in the mission, “The Noblest of Men, and a Woman.”
The search currently seems stalled before reaching Dodd’s Bluff, and people are desperately looking for new leads. Remember the feather found on the first pole? There’s a feather on each of the other seven poles as well, and they’re all either red or white. This pattern of colors might be a bigger hint, possibly related to a mission happening at Fort Wallace.
No matter what the answer is, this mystery highlights just how huge and full of secrets Red Dead Redemption 2 remains. And speaking of secrets, Rockstar, what about that next-gen version we’re all hoping for?
