The updated version of Rockstar Games’ popular 2010 title, Red Dead Redemption, is now available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, costing $49.99. PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe and GTA+ subscribers get it included with their membership. If you already own the game on PS4 or the original Switch, you can upgrade to this new version for free. This also applies to players who purchased the digital version of the game for Xbox One, as it’s backwards compatible.
This latest re-release of the classic game offers significant visual upgrades. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, you can enjoy the game in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, with generally improved graphics. The Switch 2 version also runs at 60 FPS and now includes DLSS for better performance, plus it supports mouse and keyboard controls. All versions—PS5, Xbox, and Switch—also feature high dynamic range (HDR) for a more vibrant and realistic picture.
You can also save your progress and continue playing on PlayStation and Switch. Currently, Xbox support for this feature is unconfirmed. Plus, if you have a Netflix subscription, you can play the game on your iPhone or Android device at no extra cost.
