Fans can once again enjoy Red Dwarf starting this weekend, as U&Dave begins airing classic episodes of the popular comedy series, starting with the very first one.
The show will premiere this Saturday at 8:15pm with an episode called “The End,” and new episodes will air every Saturday night. If you can’t wait, you can also stream all episodes on U.
The popular comedy show, featuring Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, and Robert Llewellyn (who became part of the cast in the third season), centers around Dave Lister, the last surviving human. He wakes up after being in stasis for three million years, following a radiation leak that killed everyone else aboard the mining ship Red Dwarf.
The show was a massive hit, running for ten seasons and was actually planned to come back with a new special this year.
Despite plans for a new episode, Doug Naylor, one of the show’s creators, has said that UKTV cancelled it last year.

Working with Doug Naylor and the Red Dwarf team has been a real pleasure. It all started with the successful ‘Back to Earth’ specials, which drew in 4 million viewers. Since then, we’ve created three full series, a look back at the show’s history, and Red Dwarf’s first full-length movie, ‘The Promised Land’.
Yes, that’s definitely a possibility,” he confirmed. “I’ve made it public this week, and we’re now starting to explore it. The cast is very enthusiastic about continuing with more projects.
I’m about two-thirds of the way through filming a movie called ‘Out of the Red,’ where the actors play exaggerated, fictionalized versions of themselves. There’s been good feedback, and both a distributor and a production company are interested in it.
I actually discussed this very topic this morning, so it’s still a possibility. The show isn’t cancelled – not yet! Red Dwarf will be shown on U&Dave every Saturday night, starting at 8:15pm, with three new episodes. You can also stream the first eight and tenth series on U right now.
