In its first day, the game Rematch garnered one million players. Approximately a month later, it boasted a total of five million unique players. Created by Sloclap, who is recognized for their work on Sifu, this competitive football game can be played on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s also part of the Game Pass subscription.
Rather than FIFA, Rematch provides a more casual, arcade-style interpretation of soccer, omitting elements such as offsides and fouls. In this game, you command a solitary player, participating in matches that range from 3v3 to 5v5 with other players. Despite not quite achieving the heights of its beta phases, the number of simultaneous players on Steam peaked at an impressive 92,841 last month.
Absolutely, it’s true that the game Rematch has faced criticism due to missing crossplay and player reporting features. However, there’s good news! These features will be introduced in September when Season 1 launches (with crossplay possibly arriving earlier). Moreover, Sloclap plans to release a patch this week that includes the ability to customize gamepad controls, options for colorblind players, and bug fixes.
Keep an eye out for further updates once we have the detailed information (patch notes), and feel free to explore our current review in the interim.
