Remedy Posts Staggering Loss of Revenue After FBC: Firebreak’s Underwhelming Launch

Remedy Entertainment reported disappointing results for the period of July 1st to September 31st, 2025. In addition to the poor performance and reduced sales expectations for their game, FBC: Firebreak, the company announced a 32 percent drop in revenue, totaling EUR 12.2 million, and a significant loss in operating profit.

The company’s operating profit (or EBIT) was EUR -16.4 million, resulting in an operating profit margin of -135.1%. This was largely due to the poor performance of Firebreak, which led to a one-time accounting adjustment of EUR 14.9 million. As a result of the revised company forecast, CEO Tero Virtala, after nine years in the role, has resigned.

The company generated EUR 11.3 million in cash from its regular business activities this quarter. However, upcoming games will need to be highly successful to maintain this level of performance.

As of August 2025, development of Control 2 is proceeding as planned, and full production is underway on the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. While neither game has a confirmed release date, Remedy has stated that the Control sequel will be an action role-playing game.

Okay, so with Firebreak, we’re still on track for a new update in late November. It’s gonna bring Endless Shift – which sounds like a cool rogue-like mode – and finally, voice chat! There’s a bigger update planned for March 2026 with a new Crisis Kit, but honestly, that might be the last one they release for the game.
