I’m so excited! As part of Sony’s test of the new PS Plus Extra service, they’ve made Sonic X Shadow Generations available to download and play for subscribers in the US and UK. They’re also testing it in Japan, though I imagine not too many of you are reading this!
If you’re not in the US or UK, you’ll have to wait until June 16th to get your hands on the game, but honestly, it’s not all bad! This new rollout means we’ll actually get the rest of the game content faster than players in those regions. I’m actually pretty excited about that!
If you’re unsure about the schedule, we’ve already shared it, but it’s currently just for viewers in the US, UK, and Japan. Everyone else will receive the complete schedule on June 16th. We believe this phased rollout is designed to keep you engaged and give you a reason to check back each week.
Okay, so I’ve been playing Sonic X Shadow Generations, and honestly, it’s a really great Sonic game. It basically takes the awesome Sonic Generations from the PS3 and makes it even better. Plus, they added a whole new story where you get to play as Shadow, which is super cool if you’re a fan of him like I am.

Okay, so I just finished Sonic X Shadow Generations, and honestly, it’s a really good value. You’re getting two games in one! But while the original game is still fun, Shadow’s new campaign is the real star. It just feels so much better to play – the levels are way more creative and the gameplay is seriously improved. The older Sonic game definitely shows its age a little, but pairing a classic with one of the best 3D Sonic games we’ve seen in years makes this a must-play for any fan.
