Sad Cat Studios has pushed back the release date of their cyberpunk action game, Replaced, once more. Originally planned for March 12th, the game will now come out on April 14th, following the release of a free demo last week on Steam.
Sad Cat Studios, the team behind the upcoming game, announced on Steam that they need a little more time to finish polishing it. They explained that, as a small team working on their first game, they’ve put all their effort into the project. Although the game is complete, they want to ensure it’s stable, polished, and meets players’ expectations when it launches. They’re asking for a few more weeks to achieve this.
Man, we’re almost there! After years of working on this, we’re so excited for you all to finally get your hands on the finished game and see what we’ve been building.
Since its first reveal at E3 2021, Replaced has improved dramatically, especially in its visuals. However, the game’s development hasn’t been without challenges. Sad Cat Studios, a team based in Ukraine, faced significant difficulties due to the Russian invasion in 2022. The developers have repeatedly emphasized their commitment to releasing a high-quality game, and aren’t willing to rush the process.
This demo provides a brief look at the game’s story: players experience life as R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence created by Phoenix Corporation, who unexpectedly finds themselves in a human body. After escaping from Phoenix-City, players must survive encounters with dangerous bandits while adjusting to a strange version of 1980s America.
The game features simple exploration and platforming, along with a fluid combat system similar to the Batman: Arkham games. You can also enjoy a free-roaming world and complete tasks for other characters.
The game Replaced will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will also be available through Xbox Game Pass. We’ll share more details about the release date soon.
