Replaced Delayed to Spring 2026, Final Trailer and Release Date Coming This Year

The visually striking 2.5D side-scrolling sci-fi game, Replaced, developed by Sad Cat Studios, showcased some captivating new gameplay at Gamescom, but unfortunately, a release date has yet to be announced. Regrettably, as confirmed in a recent development update video on IGN by game director Yura Zhdanovic, the game’s launch has been postponed until Spring 2026.

It appears that only the Xbox Series X/S and PC have been mentioned in relation to upcoming releases, with Xbox One seemingly phased out (though it will still be available on Game Pass). However, there’s good news: Zhdanovic has shared details about numerous enhancements and upgraded settings, emphasizing higher-quality graphics compared to previous versions. With brighter backdrops, enhanced animations, and stunning lighting effects, it seems the time invested has been worthwhile.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share some news about our upcoming title. Although we’re not quite ready to drop it yet, rest assured that Zhdanovic has confirmed with confidence that the new release window is just around the corner. We’re putting in that extra effort to ensure everything shines perfectly, so we’ll need a bit more time. But fear not! Later this year, we’ll be unveiling the final trailer with an exact release date – mark your calendars, fellow gamers!

Initially unveiled at E3 2021, “Replaced” has been in production since 2018. The game is set in a fictional 1980s United States where players assume control of R.E.A.C.H., an AI that finds itself inhabiting a human body, and not exactly happy about it. For a comprehensive look at the combat, free roam, and other features, you can review this detailed gameplay overview.
