Resident Evil Leaker Reveals Another Remake On The Table

Leaks about a remake of Resident Evil are appearing frequently, but it seems there’s more in the works than just the games people are already discussing. Besides the rumored remakes of Code Veronica, Resident Evil 0, and the very first Resident Evil, Capcom is reportedly also thinking about remaking another title.

According to a recent post by Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem on X, Capcom has been discussing the possibility of remaking Resident Evil: Revelations. Dusk Golem also noted that Kōshi Nakanishi, who directed the original Revelations and most recently Resident Evil Requiem, has been a key figure in the franchise’s direction.

Resident Evil: Revelations Could Get A Remake

It Makes A Surprising Amount Of Sense

Okay, so I’ve been playing Resident Evil: Revelations, and honestly, it feels way more up-to-date than some of the other Resident Evil remakes they’re working on. But playing it, I can totally see why they are revisiting it. You have to remember this originally came out on the 3DS, so it was seriously limited by the hardware back in 2012 compared to what consoles could do at the time.

The game still looks great, especially considering the technology it was built for, and it’s even been improved on other platforms. However, it’s beginning to feel a little dated. A remake made for modern consoles could expand on the game and make it even better, as the original was designed for short play sessions on portable devices.

The game Revelations fits into the larger Resident Evil storyline by showing what happened with Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5 – details that weren’t covered in the flashbacks of Resident Evil 5. With Capcom successfully remaking Leon’s story in Resident Evil 2 and 4, it would be logical to continue with another Jill-focused story after the Resident Evil 3 remake.

Don’t Count On It Any Time Soon

There’s A Lot In The Works Already

While a remake has been discussed, it’s still not certain to happen. Even if a new version of Resident Evil: Revelations is planned, it probably wouldn’t be released until after the three remakes currently rumored to be in production. This means fans likely won’t see Jill Valentine as the main character again for quite some time.

Capcom seems hesitant to tackle a remake of Resident Evil 5, so I wouldn’t be shocked if we see Resident Evil: Revelations remastered instead. Until then, I’ll keep playing the 3DS version whenever I have a little time for some portable survival horror.
