While Resident Evil Requiem focuses on the future, it also honors the series’ history. The return to Raccoon City and the inclusion of Leon S. Kennedy demonstrate this, and we might see other familiar faces. Capcom is also considering expanding the story by exploring the character Alyssa Ashcroft’s point of view through downloadable content.
A reliable source, known as AestheticGamer or Dusk Golem, has heard talk of potential DLC featuring the character Alyssa, but hasn’t received any recent information about it. While it’s not confirmed or a definite leak, it’s not an unlikely possibility.
So far, we’ve only seen Alyssa in brief flashbacks set at the Wrenwood Hotel, where she’s attempting to escape with her daughter, Grace. She’s murdered by someone we haven’t identified, but it’s possible this person was working for Victor Gideon, given their connection to the Elpis infection.
While players might control Alyssa in the main game, Capcom could also release downloadable content exploring the events surrounding her death. Alternatively, they might show what Alyssa has been doing since Resident Evil Outbreak, possibly connecting her story to the birth of Grace.
The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, will be available on February 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can find all the latest information about the game, revealed at the recent Resident Evil Showcase, here.
I’m estimating it’ll be around two-thirds of the way through the process. I’ll let everyone know as soon as I find out when copies of the game are available and how to avoid spoilers if you want to participate in a blackout. I’ve also heard rumors about a potential DLC for Resident Evil 9 featuring Alyssa, but I don’t have any updates on that yet.
