Get the details below.
The team behind “Resident Evil Requiem”, the latest and most engrossing mainline installment in the renowned survival horror series, Resident Evil, have disclosed fresh insights about the upcoming game. Director Koshi Nakanishi, Art Director Tomonori Takano, and Producers Masachika Kawata and Masato Kumazawa hint that the game will offer a thrilling experience driven by “compelling fear”, emphasizing the horror element throughout its gameplay.
In addition, the development team shared further insights about the latest main character in the series, Grace Ashcroft – an FBI intelligence analyst who is reserved and quickly spooked. This marks a fresh type of character for the Resident Evil franchise. Throughout the narrative, Grace will encounter terror alongside the player, gradually overcoming her fears. Despite her timidity, she has been trained in handling firearms and employs logical thinking to remain composed under stressful situations.
The team has made significant efforts to ensure unparalleled realism, even focusing on intricate details such as the flush on Grace’s face while she’s upside down, and the lifelike motion of her hair, which was partially modeled using a custom-made wig for reference.
Previously mentioned, gamers can seamlessly transition between playing in either first-person or third-person view throughout the game. Engage in a nerve-wracking, immersive experience through the first-person mode for an intimate, realistic feel. Alternatively, opt for the third-person perspective with its over-the-shoulder camera, which provides a more dynamic and action-packed gaming experience.
30 years following the U.S. government’s use of the Sterilization Missile to quell the t-virus crisis in Raccoon City, “Resident Evil Requiem” serves as a heartfelt farewell to the numerous characters who perished or were transformed during the initial outbreak. As March 2026 signifies the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, “Resident Evil Requiem” also stands as a significant event in the franchise’s history.
On February 27, 2026, the video game titled “Resident Evil Requiem” will be available for purchase on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and personal computers through Steam.
