Resident Evil Requiem DLC Will Focus on Leon, Not Alyssa Ashcroft – Rumor

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has been a huge hit, selling over five million copies in just a week. Although not officially announced, downloadable content (DLC) is probably on the way. While rumors suggested the game might focus on Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace’s mother, it now appears Leon S. Kennedy will likely be the main character.

I mentioned Alyssa earlier,” Dusk Golem explained. “I heard they’ve created a complete, working model of her, likely not for the main game, but possibly as part of some downloadable content. I don’t have any details beyond that.” More recently, rumors have started circulating about DLC focused on the character Leon, but there’s currently no information about how big it will be or what the story might involve.

Some believe this could explain the rumors surrounding Alyssa. They suggest she might appear as a character in the background, in scenes taking place before the story of Requiem. It seems content related to Leon was removed from the original game very late in production, and people think this cut content might be used later.

Apparently, this planned downloadable content was intended to be released between Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming remakes of Code: Veronica and Zero. At the time, Requiem was expected to launch in 2025, meaning this content might have come out sooner than the Shadows of Rose expansion for Resident Evil Village.

Everyone’s wondering if this news will come out before or after the potential announcement of a Code: Veronica Remake. Dusk Golem doesn’t know the exact release date, but they think it’s odd that new amiibo figures for Grace and Leon are scheduled to launch on July 30th. They believe this timing could mean a bigger marketing campaign for the downloadable content is coming soon.

The Resident Evil series shows no signs of slowing down, and recent leaks suggest a remake of the original Resident Evil is planned, though it’s likely several years away. A remake of Resident Evil Zero might arrive in 2028, and Capcom will be holding discussions next year to decide the future direction of the series, including plans for Resident Evil 10.
