Resident Evil Requiem Gets Photo Mode, Bug Fixes in Latest Update

I’m so excited about the new update for Resident Evil Requiem! It’s rolled out on pretty much every platform – PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and even the Switch 2. The biggest news for me is definitely the photo mode. It’s super easy to access during gameplay, and it looks like they’ve given us everything we need to create some amazing screenshots. Plus, they’ve also fixed a bunch of bugs, improved the translations, and even tweaked some of the character’s expressions to make the scenes even better!

The latest update for the PC version of Resident Evil Requiem addresses crashes and visual problems caused by specific graphics card drivers. All versions of the game also include fixes for bugs that were preventing players from continuing their progress.

Released just last month, Resident Evil Requiem has quickly become a major success. Capcom recently announced that the game has already sold over 6 million copies on all platforms. The PC launch was particularly impressive, with over 340,000 players online at the same time – more than double the 168,191 concurrent players who launched Resident Evil 4 Remake.

According to a recent sales report from Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, Resident Evil Requiem was the best-selling game in the US for 2026. The report shows that Requiem earned 60% more revenue during its first week of sales than Resident Evil Village did.

Resident Evil Requiem follows two main characters: FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Grace is sent to a hotel to investigate a string of terrible murders, but her investigation quickly becomes more complicated when she encounters Victor Gideon and uncovers a connection to the Umbrella Corporation. Meanwhile, Leon is dealing with a strange infection from the Raccoon City Incident of 1998 and is also investigating these same murders, hoping to find some answers.

Resident Evil Requiem offers two different ways to play: you’ll explore and solve puzzles as Grace, focusing on horror, and experience fast-paced action as Leon. The game switches between these characters throughout the story, letting you see what each is up to. We scored it 9 out of 10, praising how well it combines these two styles and its great level design, although we felt the story had some issues towards the end.

Capcom plans to add more content to the game in the future, including a story expansion and a new mini-game. The mini-game is likely to be similar to the popular “The Mercenaries” mode seen in previous games. Capcom says they are currently developing these additions and asks players to be patient while they work on them, promising more details will be shared later.

There’s been talk that the next story expansion could focus on Leon, and that Ada Wong might also appear.
