Getting unlimited ammo in Resident Evil Requiem isn’t as simple as finding it – you have to earn it by completing several challenges first, which is different from how some older Resident Evil games handled it. Beyond just being able to fire any weapon as much as you want, infinite ammo is really important if you want to beat the game on the extremely difficult Insanity mode.
This guide explains how to unlock infinite ammo for all weapons in Resident Evil Requiem, including pistols and the RPG-7. It also offers advice on getting it done fast with minimal playthroughs.
Earning Challenge Completion Points For Infinite Ammo
Don’t spend your Completion Points (CP) on things like cosmetic items, concept art, or models. You’ll earn plenty of CP through gameplay, especially when using Infinite Ammo, so save your points for what really matters.
Unlocking infinite ammo for guns costs 50,000 CP and can be found in the Special Content section of the Bonuses menu. You’ll need to finish one playthrough of the game first before the Bonuses menu appears. It’s best to do this on Casual difficulty, as you’ll complete several story-related challenges automatically during that run.
Think of your first playthrough as a practice run to learn where enemies appear and when to expect scares. It’s also a good time to collect everything and complete all the related challenges to earn CP. Remember to manually save after finishing each challenge – this lets you reload specific parts if needed. Don’t worry about making mistakes, because CP totals across your entire account, so you can reload saves to easily earn more from challenges.
Two important achievements involve getting the Blood Collector. Before you obtain it, be sure to create a manual save file – and keep that save handy!
Next, focus on getting the “Bloodlust” trophy (10,000 CP). This requires collecting 5,000 infected blood samples using the Blood Collector. A useful trick is to use Transfusion Bags: consume them, then reload an earlier save, and repeat until you have enough samples. While playing through the story on an easier difficulty, you can also aim for the “Minimalist” trophy (35,000 CP) by completing the game without Grace ever using the Blood Collector. You won’t be able to see your progress towards this trophy during your first playthrough, but simply avoiding picking up the Blood Collector will ensure you get it.
You can start working on The Final Puzzle now, finishing it on your next attempt to earn a bonus of 20,000 CP.
Completing the first run will unlock further challenges for you to track and earn even more CP.
If you’ve bought Infinite Ammo for your guns through the Special Content menu, go to Options in the Main Menu, then select Controls and choose Basic Settings. You’ll find an ‘Infinite Gun Ammo’ toggle at the bottom of the screen – make sure to turn it on.
Unlocking Infinite Ammo (RPG-7)
Okay, so unlocking the RPG-7 is gonna cost me 15,000 CP, and just a heads up, the Infinite Ammo bonus doesn’t apply to it. That means I need to grind another 35,000 CP specifically for Infinite Ammo for the RPG-7. Luckily, I think I can knock that out pretty easily on my second playthrough – either on Standard difficulty. I’m planning to run a mix of The Final Puzzle, Speed Demon (which gives 20,000 CP), or even Never Touch the Stuff (35,000 CP) to get there.
This covers everything you need to know about getting unlimited ammo for all standard weapons and the RPG-7 in Resident Evil Requiem.
