The Final Puzzle is a complex mystery in Resident Evil Requiem that you uncover by playing the game multiple times. Grace has several key tasks she needs to complete within the Care Center to solve it.
This guide provides a complete walkthrough for solving the final puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem.
Rhodes Hill – Care Center Basement
When you get to the Processing Room in the Care Center basement, please don’t drain the pool immediately. First, let exactly 115 bodies fall into the pool from the conveyor belt over the next fifteen minutes.
This unusual number comes from the file title ‘Subject 170 Record,’ which hints at Marie. You’ll discover it later in the game within the Care Center Courtyard, specifically on the gurney near the exit to Collection & Testing.
Exiting the area or defeating zombies will reset your progress. It’s best to save your game at the checkpoint to avoid losing everything.
Use the valve now, and drain the pool, then climb down into it.
Let the grinder work on its own. Remember, don’t shoot or kill any zombies.
Go to the Collection Pool and lower the “Collection & Testing” switch to empty the blood pool. This is just a final check to confirm the earlier steps were completed properly.
If the caption says ‘A ton of blood flowed out’, you’ve done it right. But if it says ‘A lot of blood flowed out’, you made a mistake and need to reload a save from before the bodies fell.
Rhodes Hill – Care Center
Return to the main hall of the Care Center and go to the restroom. Choose any toilet and flush it eight times in a row.
This step cannot be validated in-game like the previous one.
Rhodes Hill – Care Center Courtyard
Once you’ve gotten the Helicopter Key from the Private Lab and before you try to escape, go into the Collection & Testing room. You’ll find a blood orb that bursts into a lot of blood. If you head left inside that room, near the bottom of the stairs, you’ll discover Marie’s Doll.
Everything you’ve done so far was to obtain this important item, so don’t lose it for your next game!
Second Playthrough of Rhodes Hill – Care Center
Once the elevator scene ends and you get the Star Quartz, turn around and pick up the Severed Hand from the floor.
Take it to the Blood Lab and use the Laser Microscope to analyze it.
This puzzle is similar to the other Blood Specimen puzzles.
First, click the cube furthest to the right, then the one furthest to the left. Finally, select the atom located in the very center of the molecule.
After you solve the puzzle, you’ll see the message ‘Let’s play’ and then the code GGC AAG AUA ACG UGU CAU.
This step also activates the Lead Researcher’s Office Puzzle Box again.
Okay, so I’ve figured out some stuff about the clues, and honestly, I don’t actually need to gather them all to solve the puzzle. But I wanted to explain why they’re important anyway, just in case it helps anyone understand the bigger picture.
The Laser Microscope displays the number ‘150,000,000’. Since this roughly matches the distance to the Sun, we can assume that ‘G’ in this code represents ‘Sun’.

The next clue is an hourglass located on the desk in the VIP Suite. You need to turn it over and empty out some of the sand to reveal an imprint on the base. This imprint reads ‘U = 380000’ (three hundred and eighty thousand). Since the Moon is about that far away, we can assume that ‘U’ represents ‘Moon’ in the coded message.
The third clue is found in the ‘Grace Ashcroft Blood Analysis Report’ on the desk in the Private Lab. The report states ‘C = 4.2 ly’ at the bottom. Since Proxima Centauri, the closest star to us, is about 4.2 light-years away, this suggests that ‘C’ in the code represents ‘Star’.
Second Playthrough of Raccoon City – Raccoon City Center
Head north to the Basketball Court. To make the basketball hoop interactable, gently push the large statue head in the center of the court into it.
The caption will state ‘There’s no time for playing around.’
Go back to the Gun Shop Kendo, through the locked gate. Once inside, look to the immediate left of the doorway for the decapitated body among the new debris and interact with it.
The caption will state ‘Just ignore A.’ Therefore A denotes nothing in the cipher.
Second Playthrough of Rhodes Hill – Care Center
If you’re in the Lead Researcher’s Office with Marie and her doll, the solution to the puzzle box is entered manually using this code:
- Sun
- Sun
- Star
- Sun
- Moon
- Star
- Sun
- Moon
- Sun
- Moon
- Star
- Moon
Based on the Severed Hand analysis, the code is GGC GUC GUG UCU – we’ve removed the letter ‘A’. Entering this code will be confirmed by a distinct, unsettling laugh.
