At Gamescom from August 20th to 24th, fortunate individuals can play Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem. For those viewing from home, they’ll get an “exclusive first glimpse” during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th.
It’s uncertain what it will be exactly, but just a few weeks after its reveal at Summer Games Fest, the game has surpassed one million wishlists. As for the price, while it hasn’t been officially announced yet, given the recent pricing of Monster Hunter Rise ($69.99), it seems quite probable that a similar cost will apply.
The game titled “Resident Evil: Requiem” is set to release on February 27th, 2026, and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. This new installment takes place several years following the events of “Resident Evil Village.” The protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, embarks on an investigation into a series of grisly murders, which ultimately leads to a harrowing struggle for survival against a cryptic beast.
In contrast to past titles that stuck with a single perspective, Resident Evil Requiem introduces an exciting new feature: the option to switch between first and third-person views. This isn’t just a superficial alteration; producer Masato Kumazawa referred to it as creating two distinct games within one product.
Initial attempts incorporated online and open-world aspects during the development process, yet Capcom eventually shifted direction as “it didn’t align with fan expectations.” For further insights, explore our article.
