Resident Evil Requiem’s Leon Kennedy ‘Leaks’ Are Fake News, Says Capcom

Fans of Resident Evil have been speculating about Leon Kennedy appearing in the upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem, and a producer has now addressed those rumors.

Since the new horror game was announced, many fans have wondered if Leon Kennedy, a popular character from past games, would appear with the main character, Grace Ashcroft.

The rumor just won’t go away, and it really gained traction when a possible leaked image of Leon from the game appeared online.

Masato Kumazawa, the producer, recently spoke with Stevivor and addressed a question about Leon’s involvement in Requiem. Here’s his complete response:

Okay, so everything Capcom officially tells us is one thing, but a lot of what we fans think we know comes from putting the pieces together ourselves. Just wanted to say, don’t believe everything you read – it’s good to be a little skeptical until we get confirmation!

With AI now capable of creating realistic videos and images, it’s becoming difficult to determine what’s genuine. Players are free to interpret things as they wish, but I want to emphasize that we can’t confirm anything unless it’s officially announced by Capcom.

A photo of Leon wearing an eye patch has been circulating recently, leading to rumors about downloadable content or a new costume. However, these claims are entirely false.

Kumazawa expressed some annoyance with the ongoing hunt for Leon within the game and dismissed a circulating image claiming to show him as ‘fake news’.

It doesn’t seem like he’s completely ruled out the possibility, and many people think Leon might actually be in Requiem, perhaps even as a character you can play.

What are your thoughts? Is Leon appearing in the game, and do you think the evidence fans have found is strong enough to prove it? Share your opinions in the comments!
