Although the Resident Evil 2 remake didn’t sell as well on iOS as expected, Capcom remains committed to the mobile gaming market. They are collaborating with Aniplex and JoyCity to develop a new game titled Resident Evil: Survival Unit. According to a recent announcement, this game represents a unique approach to the franchise, transforming the survival horror formula into a “real-time strategy experience” tailored specifically for mobile devices.
The game will be available for both iOS and Android in regions like North America, South Korea, Asia, Europe, and Japan; however, a specific release date has not been set yet. In the interim, its trailer will debut on July 10th at 3 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Judging by the information on the official website, it seems that the game’s story might unfold with the old Umbrella Corporation still in existence.
For those who don’t own mobile devices, Capcom is developing the next main installment of the Resident Evil series, titled “Resident Evil Requiem.” Set to release on February 27th, 2026, it will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The game introduces Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa from “Resident Evil: Outbreak,” as the new main character. You can find all the latest information about it here, and you’ll have a chance to play it at Gamescom in August.
