I’m so excited for this new action movie! It feels like everything I’ve ever wanted – a blend of the intense thrills of John Wick and the raw, protective energy of Taken. It’s about a retired assassin who’s pulled back into the life she left behind when a young boy gets caught up with dangerous people. The story takes place in the past, and honestly, the idea of that kind of brutal action happening in a period setting is just fantastic. I can’t wait to see her skills put to the test as she fights to save him from both soldiers and gangsters!
Isao Yukisada, the director of the popular film Go, brings us Revolver Lily, a sleek new action-thriller. Starring Ayase Haruka (known for Our Little Sister and Ichi), who received a Best Actress nomination at the 2024 Japanese Academy Awards, the film follows a highly skilled assassin who appears to have left her dangerous life behind to run a brothel. But when a former coworker is killed, she’s forced to use her deadly talents once more, protecting the man’s young son and leaving a trail of enemies in her wake.
The action film Revolver Lily, based on the novel by Kyo Nagaura, features a cast including Hasegawa Hiroki, Hamura Jinsei, Shishido Kavaka, and many others. Originally released in 2023, the film will be available digitally on January 27, 2026, through Well Go USA Entertainment. A Blu-ray and DVD version will then be exclusively available on Amazon starting February 10th.
‘Revolver Lily’ Has Been Hailed as a “Spectacular” Action Thriller
The action-packed Japanese film Revolver Lily just released a new trailer, showcasing stylish fight scenes reminiscent of John Wick and a daring rescue plot like those seen in Taken. The film has a unique, old-fashioned aesthetic and follows a highly skilled former assassin battling both criminal organizations and the Imperial Japanese Army. Critics are already calling it one of the most original action thrillers in recent years.
