Herobeat Studios will be holding a private playtest for their open-world roguelite action game, Rewilders: The Lost Spring, from November 12th to 19th. Interested players can sign up now through the game’s Steam page.

About
The developers recently released a new video detailing the gameplay of their upcoming open-world roguelite, which blends elements of Metroidvania and creature-collecting games. Like many games in the roguelite, roguelike, and Soulsborne genres, the game features a central home base. In Rewilders: The Lost Spring, this takes the form of a floating airship where players can rest, interact with creatures they’ve rescued, and prepare for their next adventure. Players can customize their airship by planting seeds for upgrades, crafting items and weapons, and evolving both themselves and their companions, called Hantu. New traversal options, like a Hookshot and wall running, can be unlocked by defeating bosses.
While videos can give you a glimpse of our game, they can’t fully capture the experience. From November 12th to 17th, we’re inviting a limited number of players to try out the Grasslands Playtest for Rewilders: The Lost Spring. You can sign up now on Steam, and if accepted, you’ll get access to this and future playtests. We’ll share more details on Steam and Discord, so please join those communities to stay updated as we move closer to Early Access!

The Story of Rewilders: The Lost Spring
In Rewilders: The Lost Spring, you play as Abi, a survivor who returns to a dangerous, polluted world to find her family and heal the land. As she explores ruined landscapes, she’ll uncover the stories of a fallen civilization, encounter strange creatures, and collect powerful spirits called Hantu. With the help of a mysterious being named Rif, Abi will not only rescue her family but also work to restore the environment. The game’s creators at Herobeat Studios were inspired by the beautiful and meaningful films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, particularly their themes of environmentalism, family, and overcoming adversity. They aim to tell compelling stories through unique visuals, sound, and gameplay.
The game Rewilders: The Lost Spring will first be available on PC through Steam in 2026. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch versions will be released afterward.
