RFK Jr. wants to put the entire US budget on a blockchain

RFK Jr., an American presidential hopeful, proposes using blockchain technology to oversee the entire US federal budget.

At a rally in Michigan on the 21st of April, he suggested an idea and mentioned that this action would enable every American to examine “each budget item whenever they please, around the clock.”

“We’re gonna have 300 million eyeballs on our budget, and if somebody is spending $16,000 for a toilet seat, everybody’s gonna know about it.”

RFK Jr. proposes an innovative solution: “He plans to make the entire US budget transparent by implementing blockchain technology. This means that every citizen will have unlimited access to scrutinize each and every budget item in real-time, around the clock.”

Under Kennedy’s proposal, taxpayers would gain greater visibility into how their tax money is used.

Many cryptocurrency supporters on social media praised the blockchain proposal, expressing their belief that it would bring about a revolution and eliminate corruption.

A user suggested that clear financial record-keeping using blockchain technology could be its most effective application apart from supply chain management. They pointed out, “Government checks and balances become ineffective when those involved in corruption are colluding (primarily the president and Congress). It’s high time for the people to take action and make them accountable.”

While some have taken issue with the proposal, they argue that RFK Jr.’s blockchain project might secretly call for a central bank digital currency (CBDC). But historically, Kennedy has been vocal about his opposition to CBDCs in the US, stating they pose a threat to individuals’ privacy.

RFK Jr. has decided to pursue his presidential campaign independently, having withdrawn from the Democratic party’s race in October of the previous year.

This individual is strongly supportive of Bitcoin and blockchain technology, making him one of the rare presidential contenders throughout history to publicly back these concepts.

This U.S. presidential candidate is a trailblazer, being the first to welcome Bitcoin (BTC) contributions for campaign funds. Moreover, an intriguing proposition emerged: should he secure the presidency, his intention is to back the US dollar with Bitcoin.

In recent times, many politicians have risen to prominence by opposing centralized governance, particularly in financial matters, which has resonated strongly with the public.

More recently, Argentine political figure Javier Milei, who is supportive of Bitcoin, triumphed in elections based on an anti-central bank platform.
